What Happens To Your Body When You Stop Drinking Sugar And Alcohol For A Month

The lack of sugar in our bodies causes a kind of withdrawal syndrome, which can cause extreme tiredness, anxiety, moodiness and irritability.

It has been known for a long time that excessive consumption of sugar and alcohol directly influences the state of physical and emotional health.

However, despite all the warnings that health entities have made so that people are aware of how great is the harm they do to their bodies by ingesting this type of substance, there are many who still do not control their consumption.

Many ignore the serious consequences that can develop in the medium and long term.

To demonstrate, once again, as a  healthy diet  can cause positive health change, LifeHunters production conducted an experiment  called  “Guy Gives up added sugar and alcohol for one month”   ( “Young gives up the added sugar and alcohol for a month ” ).

This experiment shows everything that happens, in just 30 days, when you abandon these bad habits.

The final result was published through a six-minute YouTube video, which went viral on social media and various media. Know what happens to your body when you stop drinking sugar and alcohol for a month

The 1-month trial without sugar and alcohol…

Leave-the-alcohol-and-sugar-health

The protagonist of this experiment is a Dutchman named Sacha Harland, who made the decision to fulfill the challenge of eating healthy for 30 days, that is, putting aside all kinds of alcoholic beverages and added sugars.

Although Sasha did not need to lose weight or adopt a special eating plan, he was curious to know everything that would happen in his body when he stopped ingesting these two substances that he regularly consumed in his diet.

Before starting the challenge, his sports doctor, Jessica Gal, ordered several blood pressure tests, blood tests and an electrocardiogram, which allowed him to know in advance that he had high cholesterol levels (at 460 mg/dl).

After all the previous data had been collected, the young man was filled with desire and began this process that he knew would be difficult to carry out.

The goal

As the objective was to completely eliminate alcohol, sugar and fast food, Sacha  had to define an eating plan that was very different from the one he was used to.

This included suppressing foods classified with the letter E, that is, additives and preservatives present in sauces, iced tea, tandoori sauce, and many other foods.

To replace them, the new diet plan included organic foods such as fruits, vegetables, yogurt, eggs, water, among others.

In the first 4 days, our protagonist was able to notice that reaching the goal would not be so easy, mainly because  anxiety was  attacking him.

And, on top of that, he confessed to feeling tired, moody, and irritable, which was normal, as his body was just beginning to assimilate the fact of not getting sugar.

As time passed, the task of getting through the 30 days seemed more difficult. In fact, Sacha had to overcome the anxiety of not consuming fast food, while his friends did.

And got it!

Leave-sugar-and-alcohol

Last week, exactly on the 25th, Sacha confessed that, for the first time, he had not woken up with the desire to eat sweets and, in fact, said he found it easier to get up and with better energy.

Finally, he went back to undergoing medical examinations, finding significant changes in his body, such as a significant reduction in cholesterol levels and blood pressure, and the loss of four kilos.

After all this experience, Sasha confessed to his brother that he would like to continue eating healthily, not with so many restrictions, but with an awareness of the dangers that excesses bring.

The secret is in learning to be moderate with sugar and alcohol.

Although it is best to suppress added sugars, alcohol and any fast food from our diet, it must be said that occasional consumption does not pose a health risk.

The important thing is to prevent an addiction from arising and becoming a habit.

To enjoy all the benefits of healthy eating, it should be based on:

  • fruit
  • vegetables
  • Essential fatty acids.
  • Fibers
  • Water.
  • Cereals

The idea of all this is to demonstrate, once again, how food influences the state of the body and all that can be achieved when we leave out substances that can cause changes.

Are you willing to change too?
