In addition to improving our physical presence and appearance, nails have a very important protective function for our hands and feet. Therefore, it is essential to take care of them and keep your nails strong and healthy.

Many times our nails are destroyed : we gnaw them, we beat them, we weaken them with nail polish, they break, they are in layers, they are irregular, etc. With this recipe that we present below, you will be able to get the nails you always wanted.

We must know that nails are a protection for our fingers and are a reflection of our general health. Also, bacteria accumulate under the nails; therefore, good daily hygiene is essential.

Below, we teach you how to make a simple nail polish to keep your nails strong and help them grow.

Garlic helps strengthen your nails

What do we need to do to have long and strong nails?

We will make a clear glaze with garlic and iodine (optional). It will help us to make our nails grow stronger and free from infection. Garlic is a powerful antibacterial agent and iodine can help strengthen nails.

Ingredients

  • Clear enamel, containing as few chemical compounds as possible.
  • 1/4 garlic clove.
  • Optional: colorless or white iodine (available in pharmacies) (10 drops).

Preparation

  • The first thing you should do is make a hole in the clear nail polish and first add and mix the iodine if you are going to add it.
  • Then chop the garlic as much as possible and add to the glaze.
  • Finally, mix it well and let it rest for a few days.
  • Garlic will protect the mixture against the invasion of microorganisms. However, you can discard the nail polish after a month.

Application

  • Apply the nail polish no more than once a week.
  • You can apply colored nail polish over the top, but we don’t recommend doing this.
  • After a few days, remove the nail polish.
  • To lessen the smell of garlic, you can wash your hands with lemon juice. This will also help remove nail stains. Avoid exposure to sunlight or chemical agents after using lemon.

Don’t forget to take care of your nails. Hands are an important part of the body. They look insignificant, but manicured hands with strong, healthy nails can make you look better.

Remember to consult a dermatologist if you have problems with this remedy. Don’t forget that moderation in use is essential. Any product we apply to the skin is partially absorbed, so an excess of iodine can end up compromising our thyroid. Proper nutrition is essential for our nails to grow strong and healthy.
