Store them in their own cardboard boxes.

If you are one of the lucky ones who keep the boxes, or are lucky enough to be able to store them; one of the best places to organize them is to store them in their own  boxes .

As you know, the boxes are custom-made, so the boots don’t have any weird wrinkles or creases.

If you have different boxes of different models of boots, get used to marking the boxes with a permanent marker so that your memory doesn’t have to strain.

Practical ways to store long boots: in storage boxes

Put them in plastic storage boxes

We are referring to large boxes that are very low in height but very wide.

If we have a lot of boxes, that’s even better, because there are several boots that can be fitted there  , and we can comfortably place them one on top of the other.

Of course, be careful not to stain them; pre-clean the soles of the boots. Also, these storage boxes are a good idea because they fit snugly under beds.

hang them on hangers

If you have a lot of closet space or have a closet, you can hang your boots with the help of trouser hangers. It’s very useful to keep the tall boots there.

store them in chests

If you have an old chest and don’t know what to use for it, you can start by restoring it to store your boots in it.

Chests are the perfect component to store everything you don’t want to keep in sight but are close enough to grab at any time.

Tips to consider before putting away your long boots

Before we encourage ourselves to move the entire closet and put away our tall boots, we have to consider a series of questions so that in the long run, our task will be done perfectly.

Dedicate a corner for the boots

It is important to locate them properly, to maintain good organization of our shoes, not just boots.

To keep them, look for a place where they won’t wrinkle, or bend in any way, because if you don’t wear them for a long time, they  can have creases that are very difficult to remove.

boot cleaning

Although it seems logical, we rarely consider cleaning shoes. We have to pay special attention to the soles and especially if they are wet or damp; before putting them away we have to dry them completely, otherwise they will pick up moisture and bad odors.

If you’re afraid they’ll deform, you can add a newspaper inside them to shape the ends.

Likewise, you can add cardboard to the pipe so that it retains its original shape and doesn’t deform. If you can’t find cardboard right now, you can put a rolled up magazine.

Also, be careful when cleaning them, as each boot is made of a specific material: if it’s leather or synthetic leather, they’ll need a different care than if it’s fabric or velvet.

avoid bad odors

If you’re wearing your boots a lot, they may pick up bad odors when stored for a long time; for this reason, we advise you to insert a small room freshener in each boot, or in the box you choose to store them.
